Week 2

Week 2: Friday - 2 Samuel 18:1-18

I hate being under pressure.. Whenever I am stressed iI have a hard time. David told his men that he would go and fight Israel with them. Although when they heard this, they told him it would be best if he stayed in the city. After the battle, David's men saw that guy hanging in an oak tree they left him and went and told David. Later on Absalom was stabbed in the heart with a stick and died.

Week 2: Thursday - 2 Samuel 15: 1-37

My family/church keeps my motives clear. My family is raising me in a good Christian environment so when I grow up I can stay a strong Christian that serves God. The people came to Absalom to send a complaint to the king to receive an answer from him. Absalom told the king that he wanted to make a sacrifice to the Lord. The king allowed it and he along with 200 people went to go and make a sacrifice. He told them when they heard a trumpet that he would then be king over Hebron. Only when the true king got a message about this he sent people after them. David said that they had to get out of their so they fled along with the Ark of the Covenant.

Week 2: Tuesday - 2 Samuel 12:13-25

David told Nathan that he had sinned against the Lord. Nathan told him that the Lord has taken away his sins and he will not die but the son born to him would. While his son was ill David wept and layed on the ground not eating anything. Although when his son dies, he got up and went to eat and worship the Lord.

Week 2: Monday - 2 Samuel 12:1-12

Nathan went to David and told him about the rich man who had a large number of sheep and cattle and the poor man who had the one ewe. A traveler came up to the rich man, didn't kill him but one of his sheep for the man to eat he took the ewe from the poor man and killed it to feed the traveler. Nathan burned in anger and told David that he was going to lose everything because he did so many bad things in the eyes of the Lord. I am not sure if any friend of mine except family loves me enough to correct me.

Week 5

Mon.:Judges 4:4-24: Judge Deborah: How do people know that you care about them?
Well, how i know people care about me when they do actions. For other people it might be people telling them things. For example, when someone tells me good job I don't really think "oh, they care for me" but if they do something like out of there way. That is what i consider them caring. Bu tthat is what i like it might not be for you.

Tues.:Judges 6:1-40: Gideon Becomes a Judge: What examples of obedience can be found in your life?
When i think of what this question means I think what obedience do you have in your life. Well the obedience i have is like when my mom tells me to do something to do, and i do it (i.e. Chores). In the story the Israelites, their form of obedience was in battle when God told them to do something they did (usually).  Or a certain strategy if they did it and if they followed God they won. If not they lost.

Wed.:Judges 7:1-25:Gideon and the Midianites: In what area of your life do you need to trust God more?
I my life I need to trust God in many areas. One is to trust him even when it is hard or temptation comes into play. God told Gideon to go fight against some people, and said if you are afraid go with your servant and listen to them talk. Number one Gideon should have trusted God and just fought but he went and listened to them talk. So in the end since Gideon was afraid and didn't trust God they lost.

Thurs.: Judges 13: 1-25: The Birth of Samson: In which part of ;your life do you need more discipline?
In all parts of my life I need more discipline. I am not perfect therefore i need improvement. I have no idea what the question had to do with the story. The story was about Samson's mom and dad being told be an angel that she is going to have a baby and don't cut his hair. What does that have to do with discipline?

Fri.:Judges 14:1-20: Samson’s Riddle: How carefully do you consider the wisdom of your parents?
Well dependes what it is. Usually i try to but it is mostly hard to do. Samson told his parents something and they didn't know it was from the lord so they said no. He married the girl anyway. In the end she betrayer him.

Week 4 Bible Reading (Nov 8-12)

Mon. Joshua 5:13- 6:27
The Battle of Jericho: How serious are you about having God use you?
I am very serious about God using me. If god doesn't ( I pray that he will ) me life will not be fulfilled. Just like in the passage God used Joshua to bring down the walls of Jericho. I know that God will use me. Hopefully not to bring down the wall of Jericho.

Tues. Joshua 7:1-26
Ultimate Consequences: What strongly negative or positive consequences have you experienced?
Well I personally have received MANY negative consequences. Some positive, most negative. I have done things, like said things about my lovely brother :) and been punished. In the passage Achan violated God's covenant so in return God was not pleased. I guess he didn't ask for forgiveness and God was dis-appointed in him and the generations to come. Joshua was in that family and received the wrath.

Wed. Joshua 10:1-15
The Longest Day: How do you know god is powerful?
I know that God is powerful from going to church, reading the bible, and just having the comfort. In the story they got a message asking for help. The people they were called to had no chance on winning the battle. When Joshua came he knew that God would protect him and they would win with God on there side. they started to fight. It is very hard to fight during night time so Joshua said:
“Sun, stand still over Gibeon,
and you, moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.”
 So the sun stood still,
 and the moon stopped,
till the nation avenged itself on its enemies,"
And the sun stood still until Joshua and his army won.

Thurs. Joshua 23-1:16
Joshua Warns the Leaders: Which of Joshua’s warnings do you most need to obey?
I really need to obey all of them!! But the one that stand out is the one that says don't worship nay other gods except me. Now don't worry i'm not a Hindu or some other religion. But i believe that you can have your focus on other things that can take away from quality time with your relationship with God.I just need to focus on God and not on school, or friends!

Fri. Joshua 24:1-31
Joshua’s Last Words: How can you get hope from history?
I can get hope from history by learning from it. Mrs.Rowe always us to tell us that we would learn from history, so LISTEN! i.e. In the past there has been people that have not followed God so they ... went to hell. Because of them ( not just because of them ) I know that if I live a Christian life I will not go there. In the passage Joshua was reminding his people that our ancestors worshiped false gods. They were looking for something, and because they didn't get it from there "god". So if Joshua followed the one true God they would find there worth, or anything else they were looking for.
